Kibo means "the mountain" in Swahili and is a reference to Mount Kibo in Tanzania. The little boy has his whole life ahead of him before he grows into a mountain himself and is unaware of the dangers that await him. The beast that is man he should fear most of all is humankind. This painting is full of energy and expression – I wanted to capture the majestic strength and gentleness of the still-small elephant in a vibrant interplay of colors. I use acrylic paints to convey feelings.Celebrated for its strength and movement, which fills every space with a dynamic, almost electric atmosphere. It is my way of honoring the wild beauty and soul of this impressive animal.
